The Georgia State football team takes the field



Last night kicked off the college football season, and several of our residents took the field for the first time this year representing their Georgia State Panthers. Coming off a 3-8 2011 campaign, the Panthers took on the South Carolina State Bulldogs in the first of six scheduled home games this season. While the outcome was not a favorable one (Ga State lost 33-6), a stoundout performance by one of the Panthers, gave State fans something to find solice in.

Running Back Donald Russell had a strong showing, rushing for
120 yards and averaging 10 yards per carry. Donald, a transfer from Kentucky, carved up the South Carolina State defense consistently throughout the course of the game. If the Panthers hope to have a winning season this year, Russell will have to remain consistent as a formidable offensive weapon for the Panthers.

Homecoming 2012 Ping Pong Tourney and Dive-In Movie (Weather Permitting)

Date: Thursday, August 30th

Time: 5pm (Ping Pong)

Time: 8pm (Movie Begins)

 -What to Expect-

Enjoy stiff competition from your fellow Westmar residents, and Westmar Team Members, on the ping pong table. Soon to be followed by a movie and FREE Pizza poolside, ar our first Westmar Dive-In of the 2012-2013 school year.

Homecoming 2012 Pool Bash (Weather Permitting)

Friday, August 31st

Time: 4pm-8pm

-What to expect-

Good times and a whole lot of fun!!! DJ Geronimo will be on the 1's and 2's, keeping the party going while the Westmar team provides FREE food to our residents and their guests.

 

It's Moving Day!

Moving day can be a very hectic time for incoming residents joining a community. Often time’s new residents are so caught up in the excitement of moving into their new pad, that they forget to bring a few essential items they will need to make their new apartment feel like a home. Here is a list of a few items many residents forget to bring along with them, as they make their way over to Westmar. If you don't have the following items at home, or forget to bring them, there are Walmart, Target, and Ikea locations not far from the property where you can pick them up. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Inagural Luau Event

We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend our Inaugural Luau event. It was a tremendous success, thanks to our amazing residents! Residents who attended were able to dine on authentic Hawaiian cuisine, while also enjoying a DJ and live entertainment.

This was the final event for our current residents to enjoy during the 2011-2012 lease term. We would like to thank all of our residents for making Westmar their home over the last year, and we look forward to spending the 2012-2013 school year with you all.
